Every morning you should be happy, here’s why:
“The faithful love of the LORD never ends!
His mercy never ceases.
Great is his faithfulness:
his mercies begin afresh each morning.”
-Lamentations 3:22-24 NLT
This morning I woke up to reflect on God’s love and it seems so amazing to me because each morning God gives us a new start: a fresh opportunity in which His mercy is new, and His love is kind and unfailing toward us.
Awesome, isn’t it? Knowing regardless of how yesterday went — the times you sinned, the mistakes you’ve made, the wrong that happened — God has given you a fresh, clean slate with the rising sun.
In Hebrew, there are several words for “mercy.” Two of my favorite are the following:
- Cheçed (pronounced kheh-sed) meaning: rarely (by opposition) reproof, beauty, favor, loving-kindness, pity
- Kâphar (pronounced kaw-far) meaning: to cover, to condone, to expiate, cancel, cleanse, forgive, pacify, pardon, reconcile
