There will be occasions when our doubts may overcome our positive thinking and although we are encouraged, the little success we receive may become discouraging compared to the times we’ve failed. This is normal. At least once, in any successful person’s journey they think to themselves, “Is this possible? Can I really achieve?” and the answer is always yes.
Don’t focus too much on your present circumstances. Focus on your future and where you want to be. If you base your future off of your present difficulties, you’re bound to become more discouraged. However, do not think that the decisions you make now won’t affect your future.
Romans 8 is a beautiful chapter to read in discouraging and doubtful times. Verse 18 teaches us not to compare our present difficulties with the glory we will have in the future. It explains that even if you’re suffering now, don’t get upset because your future is prosperous.
Verse 28 (still in Rom. 8) reads: And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who are called according to his purpose.” You see, God will allow things to work in your favor. He will “work for the good” in your life. He is aware of your struggle and willing to help you.
Never forget that good things are in store for you and with Christ, you can overcome. You are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37), and if you believe, God will complete the good He’s started in you. God has given you the ability to do all things (Phil. 1:6, Phil. 4:13)!
