Life can be hard. Our lives aren’t perfect; we face difficulties, things get hard, family members pass, we get sick, and sometimes everything that could go wrong, does. Circumstances in our life can cause us to feel discouraged and weak. They can often drain us of our strength to carry on through life. In these moments that you feel your strength decreasing or completely non-existent, go to the Bible for help. Remember to always persevere. If we do not let our negative life circumstances overcome us, in the end it will only make us stronger.
Here are a few scriptures to stand on to help you:
Romans 5:3 Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character, and character, hope. And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured his love into our hearts…”
2 Corinthians 12:9 But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weakness, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.
The Book of Romans clearly states the in our weaknesses we are made strong. So do not be discouraged in your “weakness”, be strong. The Bible tells us to be strong in the grace of Jesus Christ (2 Tim. 2:1), be strong in the Lord and put on the power of his might (Eph. 6:10), and to be strong and of good courage because God is always with you (Deut. 31:6).
Remember that you CAN over come your situation. So whether it is pain you are going through from marriage, a breakup, sickness and disease, or troubled times, you can be victorious. How do I know this? Let’s take a look at Scripture…
Romans 8:37. “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us.” (The italics are mine).
Philippians 4:13 I can do everything though him who gives me strength.
Be confident and know that the God you serve is bigger and stronger than your problems. Just think, all of our life issues are MANmade. See here what the Bible says about God’s strength.
1 Corinthians 1:25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than man’s wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than man’s strength.
You see? God’s weakness is stronger than our strengths. Think of someone you know who is really strong, or even people on television. They are all strong, but even so God is always stronger. So the next time you’re feeling weak, pray. Remember that God has said you can do all things, you are a conqueror, and you can overcome.
We cannot escape difficulties, but we can escape being weak. We are God’s people, and as God’s people we are called to be “strong and of good courage”.
