I woke up early today even though it is a holiday weekend and I could have slept in. Rising before everyone else, I was able to do some things I haven’t been able to do in a long time, like baking a delicious treat for breakfast, sweeping and mopping the kitchen floor and polishing the cupboard doors. I would imagine that many of you are wondering why I would do these things on my day off, but for me it’s like returning to visit an old friend after a long absence. I found comfort, joy and inspiration in these simple acts.
It’s been a long while since I was able to stand long enough to bake, much less mop the floor. Likewise, it’s been a while since we had our Encourage Me Wednesdays here at Proverbs & Wisdom. You found support and reassurance in this regular feature, and looked forward to it on a weekly basis. Starting this week, we are excited to bring back the return of this old favorite.
Look for a weekly encouraging word from Ashley or myself every Wednesday, starting on July 6. You’ll find a positive note from us to help you focus on something else besides the daily overdose of discouragement from the media. We encourage you to visit Proverbs & Wisdom weekly for a visit with your old friend, and get a little encouragement (and maybe even a baked treat!) to get through your day.
Enjoy your week!
