Short Encouragement: What God Does With Your Pain

Most times I am encouraged, but the other night it just wasn’t so. I even found myself saying, “Why Jesus?” And it was at that moment, no exaggeration, that I heard a whisper say “I too, have scars. See my hands.” It reminded me of all Christ had endured and how in the end, God glorified Him. Yes, despite Jesus’ glorification He still had scars (John 20:25), but instead of using them as a reminder of His pain (as so many of us do), He told His disciples to touch them, stop doubting, and believe (John 20:27). For me, this was the greatest encouragement: that amidst our pain and the scars we may bear, one day God will glorify us. And like Christ’s scars, ours too will become a testimony proclaiming what God has done.

And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. Romans 8:30

When we see Christ's humanity and what He suffered for us and just like us, it's so humbling. I remember when I was going through a time when I was feeling very betrayed by someone I loved very much. I heard these words from the Lord in my heart "I was betrayed too, by someone I loved very much." It was so comforting and healing to hear those words from my Savior!
    Blessings,
