Safety in hard times

Being in the presence of God is second to none. There’s hope and love, peace and joy, comfort and restoration, freedom and healing there.

God’s presence is a shelter. It is a place where we can simply be still. It’s a place of being able to draw down the walls of our heart, our mind, our soul. It’s a place to simply let God be God: to recognize that He is here with us, and desires to be an active part of our lives.

But the best part is God allows us to carry His presence with us. It isn’t something that we ever have to let go or step out of. For wherever we go, our God goes with us (so long as we take the steps He has instructed).

You see, God deeply desires for us to spend time with Him. Jesus fellowshipped with His disciples. God walked in the Garden with Adam and Eve. And we are not any different. God wants you to get to know Him as He knows you. He wants to be more than a name you know, more than a Bible story told, or a message preached. Yes, God deeply desires for you to set aside time daily to know Him.

How awesome is it that the creator of all things and of all people wants to spend 1-on-1 time with you? Here He stands at the door of your heart knocking; all you have to do is open the door. Won’t you let Him in?

What impact does the presence of God have in your life? What does it bring you?

My relationship with God is intimate and personal. Each morning I wake to find new wondrous things He has in store for me. He directs my every step, my every breath.

Great read! I love it when you said “He wants to be more than a name you know, more than a Bible story told,
or a message preached. Yes, God deeply desires for you to set aside time
daily to know Him.” Such a beautiful thing to know that God actually wants to have an intimate relationship with us.

    1. I know! Isn’t it, Angie? It’s amazing how we can know so much about God without really knowing Him. We do ourselves a disservice.

It is really special to know God Almighty wants to spend time with us. It’s just another demonstration of His love for us. 🙂

Hope to see you again, Angie! Thanks for stopping by.

    1. So much joy and peace — and all the other things you have mentioned. For me, God’s presence is always a resting place. It’s peaceful.

Thanks so much for sharing this. I hope you stop by P&W again soon!
