We all have that one trait, that one characteristic, that one habit that we wish we didn’t have. It may be gossiping, choosing the wrong type of people to build relationships with, or procrastinating. Whatever it may be, there is always room for improvement. If you aren’t perfect, there is something you are doing wrong that can be done better.
Next week we will focus on living better, but according to God’s word. God wants us to be righteous people. So we’ll be focusing on becoming just that. God himself is righteous, and as our character is molded into HIS righteousness, we indeed will live better.
So just take a minute right now and evaluate your life. What trait or habit do you need to get rid of? Proverbs 6:16-19 says there are six things that the Lord hates, and seven which he detests:
· Haughty eyes (pride)
· A lying tongue
· Hands that shed innocent blood (murder)
· A heart that devises wicked schemes (planning evil)
· Feet that are quick to rush into evil
· A false witness who pours out lies
· A man who stirs up dissention among brothers (bringing trouble)
God also considers these things unrighteous:
Do you do any of these things? Even to the slightest degree? This is only a list of many that God finds unrighteous. But we are going to focus on what God finds pleasing, not unpleasing. On Monday, as we begin our walk of righteousness join us as we have articles and other spirit-filled entries.
P.S. Also, because this is “Better Living” month, we’ll throw in a few health tips and articles!
