A four letter word that to people of any race, social class, or religion makes life easier to bear, and harder to live without.
Hope gives us something to hold onto.
It encourages us that the difficult moments in our life won’t last forever. It motivates and inspires us to look beyond our circumstances and take grip of something much bigger and greater than ourselves.
I guess you can say hope keeps us alive.
And that’s why I love Christmastime — because it represents the day the world’s greatest and only true hope entered the world. The day when baby Jesus came to live, die, and resurrect for all of our pains, our sins, and our fears.
Sure, the Christmas carols are fun to sing. The presents under the tree are lovely. The food may taste great. But the biggest celebration in our heart should be the everlasting hope promised to all of us who have come to accept, believe, and know Jesus Christ as our personal Lord and Savior.
“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.” -1 Peter 1:3
May this Christmas, and every day thereafter, be a constant reminder of the hope you have in Christ Jesus, the Savior of the world, and the Lord of our lives.
From our heart to yours, Merry Christmas from the Proverbs & Wisdom staff!
